Running your own chiropractic practice means you are responsible for every aspect: patient care, marketing, hiring, staff management, billing, and more! Sometimes things fall through the cracks, but one of them shouldn’t be your website. In fact, a non-optimized and outdated website is doing your chiropractic practice more harm than you realize. Here are a few reasons why your website might not be bringing in the patients.
1. Your chiropractic website isn’t ranking for discovery keywords
Your Google ranking can make or break the success of your practice’s website. According to SEO Hacker, 90% of people don’t even go past the first page of search results. Without a high ranking for the discovery keywords you’ve identified, it is time for an upgrade. That could include building out links, updating metadata, rewriting website copy, and adding alt tags.
2. Google can’t read your content
If Google can’t understand the content on your site, it is less likely to rank in searches. Google is able to understand content and gather more information about it by using structured data. Structured data is also used for special search result features and enhancements.
Try using Google’s Structured Data Testing Tool to assess your practice’s website. If you don’t like the results you see, it might be time for an upgrade.
3. Your website is slow to load
On average, a mobile landing page takes 15 seconds to load. This is a problem as over 50% of mobile visitors leave a page if it doesn’t load in just 3 seconds. There are several speed page tools you can use to see how your site stacks up. If yours is greater than 3 seconds, it is time for a serious site cleanup.
4. Your site design is not responsive
Your potential patients use a variety of devices — desktops, smartphones, tablets — to access your site, so it needs to be able to accommodate a variety of screen sizes. A responsive website should have a clean design that looks great on any device. If your site looks beautiful on a desktop but cuts off on a mobile phone screen, that is an issue.
More than half of organic search visits in the Unites States are from mobile devices. This number will most likely continue to rise, so it is best to address this issue as quickly as possible.
5. Your website content is outdated or inaccurate
A website for medical services needs to evolve with your practice. If the content on your site is outdated and doesn’t accurately reflect your practice, take immediate action. Not having time to update that content may be a problem, but failing to make changes because you don’t know how is a bigger issue.
Your website should serve you well and is an important part of your practice in today’s technologically advanced society. When patients aren’t able to easily locate the information they want, they will go to where they can find it — your competitors.
Just as you advise your patients to monitor their health, the same rule goes for your website. Without maintenance, it cannot be effective. To learn more about how ChiroDestiny can help improve your practice as a whole, click here to schedule a complimentary coaching call.
