With Thanksgiving quickly approaching, it’s a great time to consider all that you’re thankful for. Your family, friends, chiropractic practice, patients, and of course, your employees! How you express your gratitude is up to you, but it’s important that you do it. Here are some tips to express gratitude to your team.
Thank You Notes Go A Long Way
You probably enjoy the feeling of positive recognition and your employees certainly will, too. A quick email recognizing a team member’s excellent work is a great step, but a hand-written note is even better. Another way to do this is to send an email to the whole team congratulating the person or giving them a shoutout during your next meeting so others can join in on the praise.
Give Gifts When Appropriate
If an employee gets married, moves into a new home, or has a baby, that’s a great time to get them an appropriate gift. It doesn’t have to be excessively personal or extravagant, but a small gift is a kind gesture to show them you appreciate them as an employee and as an individual.
Time Off – No Catch!
We often focus on gratitude for specific accomplishments, but it’s important to show your staff you are thankful for their ongoing services in your practice. One way to do that is to give time off without strings and generously when a family emergency comes up, around the holiday season, or just because. Small acts like that are rewards that help keep everyone motivated and feeling appreciated.
Take the Team to Lunch
This one is simple and always appreciated because everybody needs to eat! A team lunch is also a great way to check-in with your team to make sure they are getting the support they need. It’s also a good way to connect with each other and just enjoy some time as a team.
