How To Practice Gratitude Daily

An attitude of gratitude has many benefits: it can reduce stress, boost your mood, and make those around you feel appreciated. It can also make you a better leader. A study from the University of Pennsylvania found when leaders show gratitude to their employees, the employees are 50% more successful and successful employees mean a successful chiropractic practice. Here are our tips to help incorporate gratitude in your daily life.

Schedule Time for Daily Reflection

We know how busy you are managing your own chiropractic practice, but it’s important to remember to take time for yourself. Reflection may not seem like a priority, but blocking out a specific time to practice gratitude in your day will allow it to become a priority. Eventually, recognition of all you have to be thankful for will turn into a habit.

Practice Authenticity

Gratitude is more effective when you really mean it. For example, when an employee completes a project, you can do more than offer a general “thanks”. Name specific actions and what steps they took that you appreciated.

Be sure to compliment your team often and in meaningful ways. Employee appreciation goes a long way!

Celebrate Wins, Big and Small

We all love celebrating significant milestones and you should certainly continue to do so…but massive wins don’t happen every day. What you do see every day are small victories and happy moments. When you see someone in your practice going above and beyond, let them know you appreciate their efforts. Those words may seem small, but they go a long way over time.
