Pumpkin Spice Latte, anyone? Fall is in full force, and despite the changing colors and Instagram-worthy pumpkin patches, it can be a time when many people checkout from your social media outlets. People are more focused on the start of school and the upcoming holidays, and engagement with your social media followers might start to dwindle. Reinvigorating your social media and keeping your practice’s accounts exciting can help to fight a Fall slump and keep your activity consistent. Here are our tips.
1) Let’s Get Visual
Fall is a beautiful season! The leaves are changing colors, cooler weather means more outdoor activities, and Fall flavors mean plenty of delicious looking social media posts. Use this opportunity to refresh the content your practice is putting out and tie it in to the Autumn theme. Try using videos, updated photos, and GIFS on your social media platforms. Perhaps you can get involved with local events and capture some shots of your staff engaging with visits. Your current (and potential) followers and patients are all drawn to what appeals to the eyes. Imagine a beautiful sunset over an apple orchard or orange and red leaves lighting up the skyline. You can picture yourself there, can’t you? Your social media team can create content that relates to both your chiropractic practice and the Fall season. Maybe you create a mini-series of your team taking part in Fall activities and ask your followers to share their images, too. Or create a campaign on how chiropractic helps athletes (football season, anyone?). In order to be successful on social media, you need to be authentic. Even though chiropractic care and the health of your patients is serious business, It doesn’t hurt to throw in something funny every now and then (like a Halloween costume contest at your practice). Showing your patients that you are human will only encourage them to engage with you more.
2) Contest Time!
Fall is full of fun activities: apple picking, going to the pumpkin patch, or taking a relaxing hike. All these sound like a great time, but can only be fully enjoyed if your patients are in the best health possible, accomplished with the help of chiropractic care, of course! If you are looking to generate some extra buzz on social media, a contest is a great way to share your message and reach new followers. Try a photo contest where followers share how receiving treatment at your chiropractic practice has helped them to be able to do activities they love. Or maybe every time they check into your practice, they receive an entry in a raffle. Giveaways can include a complimentary massage, discounts on services, or products you might have available for sale. You can be as creative as you like!
3) Switch It Up
Are you stuck in the same old social media patterns and routine? Social media is a place to be creative and adventurous. Try new things in your posts and take (reasonable) risks. There is no better time than the present to try something new. For example, if most of your content is strictly focused on chiropractic adjustments, try making some posts on related topics, like health and wellness, proper sleep, and tips to destress. Going just outside of your immediate scope will interest a broader audience and has the potential to attract new patients. Think about what catches your eye on social media, and see if you can find a way to link in to chiropractic. If it fails, you can always go back and try again. And if it works, you might just be on to a new social media marketing plan!
4) Partner Up
Creating relationships is incredibly important when it comes to the success of your practice. These relationships can also help your social media. You could try reaching out to a local blogger or social influencer and have them document their chiropractic adjustment with you. Try to find someone whose content is relevant to chiropractic (perhaps someone focused on health and wellness) who is willing and able to promote your services without it feeling forced. Many social media influencers are willing to accept gift certificates or complimentary services in exchange for a feature on their site, though you may want to consult with a lawyer to familiarize yourself with the legal parameters of social influencer marketing.
