We know that COVID-19 has presented challenges for your chiropractic practice and one of them is maintaining the connection between patient and chiropractor while still following safety protocols. We have had to make some adjustments to how we interact with our patients, but one area we can all continue to improve on is our online presence. Last week we discussed how you can stay connected through Facebook and this week’s suggestions are all about Google My Business.
Maintain your Google My Business Profile
When patients Google search your chiropractic practice, are you taking charge of what comes up in the results? Your Google My Business profile page is a free listing that appears for your practice both on Google Maps and Google Local Search results. Because so many businesses have changed their hours and had to close, consumers are performing more “open now” and “near me” searches. They are also searching for specific criteria such as online payment options and delivery. With that being said, it’s more important than ever to ensure all your information is up today. Be sure that all information is correct, especially hours of operation so current and prospective patients will know you are still available for chiropractic services.
Create Google Posts
Just like with Facebook and other social media platforms, you can publish posts to your Google My Business listing. This, like other services, is free but one major difference is that on other social media platforms, consumers are usually just scrolling. On Google, consumers are actively looking for a particular service or product. Google My Business posts allow you to get your offers, updates, and services in front of consumers who are ready to engage with your practice, so it is a great way to reach and retain potential patients.
Google My Business also offers a new COVID-19 style post so you can be even more effective at reaching prospective patients at the right time.
Write Relevant Blog Posts
As we mentioned last week, just because the internet is loaded with COVID-19 content doesn’t mean you can’t stand out. The trick is to focus on specific keywords that are relevant to your business. Think about what your patients are looking for right now. As many gyms closed, people needed to figure out how to do their workouts from home. A blog post focusing on at home exercises and stretches is a great way to create relevant content while exemplifying your expertise in your field.
