2020 may have felt like the longest year ever, but how many times have you asked yourself, “It’s December already?!”? If that sounds familiar, you may be feeling a little bit behind when it comes to getting your chiropractic practice ready for the holidays. Here are a few small steps you can take to get ready for the season.
Get in the Spirit of Giving
The holidays generally involve gift-giving, so this is the perfect time to think about the products you provide that could be stuffed in stockings or given as gifts. Highlighting these services on social media, in an email blast, or on a holiday-themed stand in the corner of your office can help increase sales.
Don’t forget about services as gift certificates or a free adjustment, massage, or other services you offer that can be a great holiday gift.
This also means you’ll want to be stocked up on any items that tend to sell quickly when promoted as gifts, such as essential oils. To get a better idea of what those are, look back at what sold most during last holiday season and go with those.
Your patients don’t have to be the only one giving gifts – you can get in the spirit, too. Get in the spirit of things and give a free sample pack or pain-relieving gel or similar products that will help relieve muscles that have tightened during the stress of the holiday season.
Pull out the Decorations
We’re not saying your practice needs to turn into Santa’s Toy Shop, but getting in the spirit of things is a great team-building exercise for you and your team and also helps boost morale (for staff and patients alike!).
You can also consider including your patients in creating a more festive atmosphere. If you offer pediatric chiropractic, you could have pictures available that the kids can color. Or if you have a tree up in the office, kids can color paper candy canes or other ornaments to hang on the tree, which also creates a comfortable and welcoming environment.
Taking Time Off? Give Advanced Notice
With the holiday season comes time off for you and your staff to spend some well-earned time away from the practice. Make sure your patients know well in advance which days you plan to take off so they can plan their appointments accordingly.
Ideally, you will post the days your practice is closed online and where it can be easily seen at reception. Have your staff remind patients to help make alternative arrangements to their regular scheduled adjustments and be sure those days are blocked out on your appointment log so nobody gets booked on accident.
